Have you always wanted to try quilting but wasn't sure it was for you? Well, this introductory class is PERFECT for you! My goal is to teach you the joy and skill of quilting, in a fun and stress-free environment.
In this seven-session series, we will make an entire quilt from start to finish, and explore all aspects of quilting, from color theory (choosing your fabrics), to reading a quilt pattern, and sewing with an accurate quarter-inch seam allowance while learning your sewing machine. In class, we will sew together and complete an entire throw-sized quilt top and even learn how to finish your quilt and add the binding. Yes, you will actually learn how to quilt on your own sewing machine!
You will need to bring your own sewing machine to class. There are two reasons for this; 1) you will get to know your own machine inside and out and become comfortable with using it, and 2) It's always a good idea to complete an entire project using the same machine, and we will have homework that you'll need to complete between class sessions.
You don't need to bring anything with you to the 1st class. We will use this first session to talk about quilting as a hobby, our sewing machines, necessary supplies, and FABRICS! Just come ready to have a good time and make some new friends.
The class fee of $150, covers all class sessions and handout materials only. Class supplies, including fabrics & notions are not included in this price but will be necessary for the completion of your quilt. We will discuss all of this in the first class session.
